Dutch heavy-lift service provider Mammoet has been awarded a contract for critical lifting and weighing operations on the Scarborough gas project by Australian energy company Woodside Energy. The offshore project off the coast of Western Australia involves the development of gas fields and the construction of processing facilities. According to its own statements, Mammoet will be responsible for the transport, positioning and weighing of major components. The contract underscores the sustained demand for specialized cranes and heavy-lift technology in the offshore energy industry, where mobile tower cranes are increasingly being used alongside conventional crawler cranes.
